How to Search the site?
The site search has been designed to allow you to search any text on the site within the About the Co-op section. This section contains information about the Co-op Movement and its history. Use this section if you are looking for specific information about the Co-op Movement, the people currently involved in the Movement and the key figures who have played a part in its development.

Site Search

You can enter words or phrases and results will be listed in relevance order linking to the full document within the site.

How to do a Location search?
Co-op online provides a simple route to finding your nearest Co-op outlets belonging to any of the UK Co-op societies. These can be both online and off and have been categorised to help you locate a specific business quickly and easily.

To find an outlet from within the Co-op online database you need to follow our simple two-stage search process.

Stage One

Stage one: In the location field, enter the postcode, town or city name of where you wish to search.

Stage Two

Stage two: Select from one of the categories available. This will start the search for an outlet in the location you have selected.

You can search within any of the following categories and results will based on the nearest options available, displaying outlets (shop, branches, offices) in the centre column followed by online services (websites and e-commerce) where available in the right-hand column.

Postcode searching will be more accurate, using a town name or county will require you to confirm the location to be searched from a list.

Food: Search here if you are looking for your nearest food store, superstore or late shop.

Non food: Search here if you are looking for department stores, shoe shops etc. or online sites selling electrical goods.

Financial services: Search here if you are looking for banking or insurance offices or internet banking and online insurance quoting.

Travel: Search here if you are looking for a travel branch or an online travel agency.

Funerals: Search here if you are looking for funeral services either on the high street or online.

Pharmacy: Search here if you are looking for local pharmacies and online pharmacy sites.

Motoring: Search here if you are looking for car dealerships, garage services and online car sales sites.

Co-op societies: Search here if you are looking for head office details of a particular Co-op society in a location or links to the Society corporate websites online.

Other services: Search here if you have not found what you were looking for elsewhere.

Results: These will form two columns one for outlets and one for online websites based on the search criteria you used.

You will be presented with a list of any outlets based on your location, with the nearest at the top of the list. Each entry has details about the outlet, including the address, the approximate distance to the outlet and a link to further information where available. You will also be presented with a list of online outlets within the chosen category, detailing the name of the online outlet, a short description of the service on offer and a link to the website.

More information: Following the More Information page link you are presented with all the available details about the outlet. This includes the type of outlet, the address, opening hours, a list of the services the outlet offers, a map and any other information available. You will also be presented with a link back to the Society that owns the outlet.

How to use the About the Co-op section?

About the Co-op

Navigation: The About the Co-op section is full of information about the Co-op Movement and its history. Use the expanding menu system to navigate the site. You can tell how deep you are within any section by the number of chevrons (<) there are. No chevrons means that you are looking at a main section, one chevron means you are looking at a first level sub section, two chevrons means you are looking at a second level page etc. You can navigate within the section you are looking at or quickly through the main section to find the area you are looking for.

Next/BackNext & back buttons: At the top and bottom of each page you will find a 'next' and 'back' button. You can use these buttons to navigate the entire history section. Just click on either 'next' or 'back' until you find the page you are looking for or have seen the entire section.

Close menu: This functionality allows you to close the menu as you navigate the About the Co-op section. Once you have closed the menu you can either open it to re-navigate or simply use the 'next' or 'back' buttons.

Back to TopBack to top: At the bottom of each page, and in the middle of some of the longer one's, you will find a "back to top". Click on this to be taken back to the top of the page.

How to print out a page?
The Co-op Online website has been designed to be printer friendly. To print out a page just simply click print. The page has been coded so that you just get the information you want. All menus and headers are excluded.
