Consumer co-ops have been campaigning on behalf of consumers for many years - indeed the fundamental reason the Rochdale Pioneers opened their first co-op shop was to make sure consumers got the best possible deal, that is goods they needed at a price they could afford. Ever since then, the Co-op has been at the forefront of taking care of consumers, particularly tackling issues on their behalf.
